The highly acclaimed fashion brand was established in Helsinki, Finland, in 2002 by brand’s creative design director YAT, a Hong Kong born designer who made his way to Finland through London and Tokyo. 2009 — GINEN IN Magazine Design Award. Copenhagen, Denmark. YAT and 2OR+BYYAT have been nominated as one of the top 5 designer brands in Scandinavia.

2002 — YAT’s concept and design, ISABURO ‘CITI-123′ backpack, won the prestigious GOOD DESIGN AWARD in Japan.

1994 — Tokyo Journal Innovative Award, Tokyo, Japan.

1990 — The Final Winner of the prestigious RSA – The Royal Society of Arts Fashion Award. YAT has been awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts. London, U.K.

1989 — Industrial Award, a trip to Italy to visit FENDI, VALENTINO, MAX MARA etc. Kingston University. U.K.

1988 — Clarks Shoe design project winner. Somerset, U.K.

1988 — Finalist, THE SMIRNOFF (U.K.) FASHION AWARDS, The Royal, Albert Hall. London, U.K.


2012 — FINLAND’S NEXT TOP MODEL collaborates with 2OR+BYYAT. Our Autumn Winter 2012 collection is featured in the final episode of the FINLAND’S NEXT TOP MODEL TV program on Nelonen – Suomen Huippumalli Haussa 2012

Since 2007 — Louisiana Museum Of Modern Art in Denmark has been carrying 2OR+BYYAT Fashion & Leather Goods collections through out the seasons.

2011 — Starting a regular charity co-operation with the Women’s Bank / Naisten Pankki to support women’s sustainable entrepreneurship and livelihood in developing countries.

2011 — Collaboration with Henkel/Perlana detergent; created and designed a leather bracelet.

2008 — Collaboration with EBOOKERS Travel for their ‘LUXURY’ branch; created and produced leather travel wallets and luggage tags.

2007 — Designed and created C BYYAT travel luggage for the Chinese market.
2007 — Designed and created BYYAT showroom specifically for the Chinese market.

2006 — Jury of the Estonian Fashion Designers Contest SuperNoova, Estonia.

2005 — NOKIA / Hewlett-Packard, Global; designed for VisualRadio clothes collection: ‘techstyle by YAT’.

2003 — Creative direction, concept and design for new NIKE travel luggage line. Portland USA. Launched during 2004 Athens Olympics.

2002 — “ISABURO 1889″ Ladies’ Collection. Creative and design director; designed the whole concept and branding for the new Ladies’ line for luxurious handbags. Launched in Tokyo, Japan.

2001-2002 — Consulted MULBERRY London U.K. on travel luggage, bags, over all brand image and merchandising. Visited MULBERRY factory in Somerset, U.K.

2001 — “ISABURO 1889″ Tokyo Minami Aoyama Shop and Osaka Teikoku Hotel. YAT collaborated with the luggage manufacturer of the Japanese Royal family for the past 4 generations.

1999 — “ISABURO 1889″ as a Creative and Design Director designing a new concept and branding for men’s collection of luxurious leather luggage and bags, fashion, shoes and accessories. Collaboration was launched in Tokyo, including a flagship shop in Oomotesando, Tokyo, Japan. YAT also designed the concept for a ‘shop-in-shop’ store.

1992-1994 — Yohji Yamamoto Inc. Yoshiyoki Konishi / FICCE UOMO. Tokyo, Japan.

1990-1991 — Limonta Spa, Italy; designed fashion and textiles. The collection was shown in Paris and Milan.

1990 — PUMA, designed sportswear and accessories. London, U.K.

1988 — Designed for Marith & François Girbaud Collection. Paris, France.
